About the Artist
From a very young age, Leila’s life was deeply influenced by art. She has studied diverse techniques around the world, mastering mediums ranging from watercolour and traditional egg tempera to acrylics and oils. Leila holds a postgraduate degree in Fine Arts from The University of Auckland. An award-winning artist, she has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions across New Zealand, the USA, Italy, Spain, Australia, and the UK. Her works are held in private collections worldwide, including in New Zealand, Australia, England, Italy, South Korea, Russia, and Dubai. As a full-time artist and educator, Leila is passionate about sharing her knowledge, often bringing fresh, inventive approaches to traditional techniques and subjects. She also offers free tutorials for beginners and art enthusiasts on her YouTube channel, ‘Leila Ataya- Artist’.
